TV’s Parenthood Finale

Aside

The best televised family series ever!

Taking into account all of our vulnerabilities, the show consistently met family values of patience, honesty, and genuine love. The cast had much respect for one another and even projected that love throughout the episodes.

Extend the storyline

I even wish there was a way to extend it because the cast and writing was so good. There were many issues that were brought out and discussed, for instance what happens when a service veteran comes home from war. How does he feel, how does he react to love, is he able to function right away, will he respond to responsibilities. It is extremely important for us to think about someone else besides ourselves because that is what gives us humility and an understanding of others.

Television at it’s best

The writers who came in and worked to bring us the important stuff are awesome. This is the best type of family drama that we will ever see because it brings the family together and shows what is possible when things are taken one at a time and what possibilities can happen.

The relationships between Bonnie Bedelia and Dad, showed them as they reached maturity and she wanted to travel and do different things, while he became stuck at home and he realized how much he really did love her. The show explored his dependence on her and her interest of outside things like art and travel while still loving him and their family. Yes, I know it’s a television show and not reality, but there are families like that. We need more experiences and families like that to be able to explore new things in their lives without threatening real life.

Death and Suspense

Other television shows give us death and suspense, and violence against women big time. I am so sick of them that I preview those shows and do not watch them. However there are a few exceptions where the detective shows get the perps and put them in jail.

A Woman as President

New series this season includes one that actually portrays a woman as President of the U.S.. It offers good substance and the triumph of good over evil with the President in difficult situations. It doesn’t hurt that the storyline includes a white woman her son had married (President and son and husband is black)  and now the son is dead makes the story more interesting.

Chicago Fire

Others that provide more substance than violence like the firemen of Chicago Fire use their vulnerability to make the feelings and situations real.

A better tv season

All in all we have a better tv season. But also offerings like Grimm that is totally evil against good and yet the good seems to be triumphant amidst the real gorey parts can be interesting. It is not my taste of entertainment at all, but I have watched it only a couple of times because I can’t endure gore.

Making Changes is Paramount to Getting Ahead

Aside

Stop the habit

Save your life, stop that bad habit.

We all want to get ahead, right? The first thing we need to decide is what we are willing to let go of. Yes, changing ones life is about letting go of what is not working, but also having the courage to make a change in your habits. I can’t tell you how many times I have done that, but you already know that is one of the hardest things to do in life. But, we must do it and I am serious about that if you know me at all.

It takes courage to make changes

Making changes is paramount to getting ahead in any endeavor whether it is personal or business change, doesn’t matter. You can call it growth for new success, or letting go of personal fear, but, you must do it, make that minor change in order to get to a better life.

Sometimes we get stuck in a rut complaining about what other people are doing or not doing. But, we control ourselves everyday in every way. Suck it up and get started, this is your kick in the pants, now just go out and do it.

Respect Your Personal and Work Life Obligations

If you are often late for family functions, or to work, set an alarm earlier to make sure you make a good attempt to honor your commitments. Be on time that shows that you respect your obligations and the people around you. At work it even means you respect your boss, or position at work. Otherwise you might lose your job. Come on shake it up, work on being better day to day. Do the work to advance the change you really want.

Number 1. Save yourself some money,

Stop procrastinating, don’t call the food take out palace, go to the store and buy your own ingredients for a meal. Fix it yourself, you will get more for your money because depending on what you are cooking most likely you will get double to amount of food for the same price as takeout (sometimes three times the amount).

Eat healthier

If you are on a diet, change one thing a week, cut out sugars. Use natural sugar instead of regular. Stop drinking soda, immediately, especially diet soda. Diet soda is killing people and they don’t know why they feel bad. It is extremely bad for your kidneys. Drink herbal teas, black and green teas are great for your body. Don’t stop drinking coffee, it’s really good for you, but don’t overdo it. Four cups a day is great if you can handle that. Stop adding the high calorie creamers, check the labels when buying them in the store. Use natural sugar, not the blue or pink sugars. The pink and blue packages are just another diet no no because they do more harm than good, like diet sodas.

Starting Life Over

Image

It occurs to me that somewhere in my 70’s I should be able to start over again for the umpty umph time, LOL. The ever changing world gives you different challenges as the days turn to black nights to migraines, to bizarre dreams and lovely light mornings to brew your coffee and drink it in a comfortable chair near a sunlit window. Another day, a newer beginning. We all have that chance so many times in our lives. It is indeed what we choose to do with our new day that makes the difference in our happiness.

Happiness You Choose it

Happiness by the way is something that we choose for ourselves. You choose it, I chose it ,our mothers choose it on many different days of our lives. But, happiness can be counted in moments, hours, days, weeks even, it all depends on how much happiness you want literally. It is always a choice that is available for all of us, and yes it can be a hard choice depending on where you are in your life relationships that you already have. You always have a choice, it is up to you and your courage to make change that is positive for you.

You are the one who makes your own choices. No one else is allowed to do that for you, or to browbeat you into something you don’t want to do. So gather up your courage and do what you want to make you happier.

And Morning Begins

And Morning Begins

A Long Overdue Call

What started my thinking today was a long overdue call from a close friend whom I have not heard from for about a year. I smiled when I heard the voice, it was heavier than it used to be, and a little angry, and a little scared, but the voice trembled with love at the same time. Sometimes you can hear that, you can even hear the heart, the heat in the words as they stammer out. It can indeed be a happy event,  and that conversation really made my day I have to admit.

Ladder of Life

Now there is a tall ladder in front of me. I call it my “Ladder of Life” and it is my choice to either climb the steps to have my happiness in the sun or reject it. I am not going to reject it at all, rather take the first few rungs to explore new days in the sunshine. This is a new feeling that has lain dormant for far too long, one that I always wanted to experience but the other person had to acknowledge it or it wouldn’t work out at all. Sometimes the wait is worth it.

Respect Yourself and Others Choices

We have to wait things out sometimes and respect other peoples choices because life can be a good lesson in self respect and that of others who are in your life. Sometimes they change their minds. Everyone is here for a reason we never know what that is unless you are in agreement with someone else and you have talked about it.

Intuition and What Really Makes Sense

We all have energies, feelings that don’t seem to make sense at first. Later when you think about it what you really thought was true after all. That is your intuition speaking to you through your heart. It always pays to listen to your heart by watching someone elses actions and listening to what they say and do.

Pay Attention to Trust

It is also like trusting your dog whom you love because you have had since he was a puppy. Dogs know peoples actions and have that sixth sense as to if a friend is trustworthy or not. Think about the past, was there ever a person that your dog didn’t like? Always pay attention to your pets likes and dislikes. They can tell you things when you are not paying attention. When your dog gets up during the night and starts to bark you know something or someone is near your house, or on your property. Therefore you know to pay attention to the dog. This is the same thing pay attention to trust, with your dog, and your heart, pay attention to peoples actions and words. Wake up!
